Title A name given to the resource MESIALIZAÇÃO DE MOLARES INFERIORES COM CANTILEVER APOIADO EMANCORAGEM ESQUELÉTICA Subject The topic of the resource Artigo Description An account of the resource O objetivo deste artigo é descrever o caso clínico de uma paciente com má-oclusão de Classe II subdivisão direita com perda do primeiro molar inferior do mesmo lado, onde a opção de tratamento foi o fechamento do espaço causado pela perda dentária por meio da mesialização do segundo e terceiro molar. Foi utilizada ancoragem esquelética em mini-implante, pois não era aceitável a perda de ancoragem do segmento anterior além da necessidade de movimento de corpo dos dentes adjacentes ao espaço. Já o uso do cantilever se fez necessário devido à necessidade de correção de efeito colateral indesejado, como a inclinação do segundo molar para mesial. Os resultados foram satisfatórios, pois houve fechamento total da região edêntula mantendo-se o paralelismo das raízes, melhora da estética e, ainda, correção das discrepâncias sagital e transversal. Foi concluído que esta é uma mecânica eficiente, pois permite a reabilitação da oclusão sem a necessidade de implante dentário, trazendo conforto e satisfação ao paciente. A utilização do Hyrax em conjunto com a Máscara de Petit trouxeram melhoras significantes ortopedicamente. O aparelho fixo com prescrição biofuncional apresentou aspectos positivos no tratamento, com um bom posionamento dos incisivos inferiores em relação às bases ósseas juntamente com a cooperação da paciente garantindo um tratamento com um resultado final satisfatório. O tratamento durou 5 anos e a paciente mostrou-se muito colaboradora, cooperando com o uso do aparelho ortopédico permitindo um resultado final eficiente e com grande aceitação pelo paciente.
