Foi utilizada ancoragem esquelética em mini-implante, pois não era aceitável a perda de ancoragem do segmento anterior além da necessidade de movimento de corpo dos dentes adjacentes ao espaço. Já o uso do cantilever se fez necessário devido à necessidade de correção de efeito colateral indesejado, como a inclinação do segundo molar para mesial. Os resultados foram satisfatórios, pois houve fechamento total da região edêntula mantendo-se o paralelismo das raízes, melhora da estética e, ainda, correção das discrepâncias sagital e transversal. Foi concluído que esta é uma mecânica eficiente, pois permite a reabilitação da oclusão sem a necessidade de implante dentário, trazendo conforto e satisfação ao paciente. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de caráter narrativa, no qual foram utilizadas revisões literárias, buscadores eletrônicos, como Google acadêmico, no qual foram utilizados artigos referentes aos últimos 17 anos, compreendidos entre 2014 a 2020. Foi possível identificar que as resinas tem menor custo e na maioria dos casos não exige desgaste da estrutura dentária, porém podem sofrer alteração de cor, o que não ocorre com as cerâmicas, que apresentam ótimos resultados estéticos, porém e exige um maior número de sessões e seu custo é mais elevado. No presente estudo observou-se que cabe uma avaliação correta da situação dentaria do paciente e conhecimento dos materiais bem como suas propriedades e indicação, para assim garantir sucesso no tratamento estético. Com isso a tentativa de preservação, torna-se fator crucial juntamente com o restabelecimento de uma melhor anatomia, e estética. As resinas estão sendo elencadas como material de escolha em muitos casos de reabilitação oral, devido as suas propriedades estéticas, biocompatíveis. O objetivo dessa revisão de literatura é relatar as possibilidades de uso da resina composta em casos de reabilitação oral, restabelecimento de dimensão vertical de oclusão, e melhora estética, de acordo com a função e anseios do paciente. Para isso, pesquisou-se, sobre o tema, artigos científicos, monografias e trabalhos de conclusão de cursos, publicados entre os anos de 2004 e 2020, na ferramenta de pesquisa de publicações Google Acadêmico. As resinas são materiais de ótima qualidade e com possibilidades vastas de uso, uma alternativa de baixo custo a pacientes que buscam melhoras, tanto no aspecto funcional, como estético. Apresentam resultados estéticos muito satisfatórios, com custos reduzidos se comparados a outros materiais, tempo clinico reduzido, porem dependente da habilidade manual do cirurgião dentista. Após o estudo dos artigos encontrados, conclui-se que a técnica da resina direta, é uma alternativa viável, e conservativa, já que se baseia em desgastes minimamente invasivos, e ancora-se em sistemas adesivos de qualidade, tornando-se uma ótima opção a pacientes que apresentam desgastes, e necessitam de reabilitação oral.
