O diagnóstico da doença é simples, devendo ser rastreada em todas as gestantes, o tratamento é realizado com penicilina e deve ser incluído aos parceiros sexuais. O não tratamento ou o tratamento inadequado da sífilis congênita pode provocar aborto, prematuridade, complicações agudas além de sequelas fetais. O objetivo deste trabalho é esclarecer as principais características, complicações e dificuldades da gravidez tardia. Ser mãe após os 35 anos é desafiador, pois as chances de engravidar diminuem, a mulher tem menos óvulos, por isso é menos fértil, aumentando a probabilidade de problemas genéticos, como a Síndrome de Down, a gestante pode também desenvolver diabetes e hipertensão durante a gestação, e desenvolver para um quadro de pré-eclâmpsia. Baseado em informações disponíveis em plataforma Brasileira, sobre a ocorrência de partos cesáreas ao longo dos anos, tenta-se expor esta tendência e estabelecer suas diferenças sócio-econômicas e sociodemográficas que resulta em uma incidência mais elevada para os indivíduos e regiões mais favorecidos economicamente. Com esta pesquisa pode-se afirmar que no período dos anos 2015 a 2018 nos hospitais privados, o tipo de parto mais freqüente foi o cesariano e nos hospitais públicos o parto natural foi mais realizado.
