A paciente já havia instalado aparelho a um tempo atrás, porém depois de alguns meses o problema persistiu. A paciente não fez uso de nenhum aparelho de contenção após o tratamento, o que pode ter aumentando assim as chances de recidiva. Com a documentação em mãos e planejamento feito, iniciou-se o tratamento da mesma, após o alinhamento e nivelamento, começou o processo de fechamento da mordida aberta com auxílio de ligas ortodônticas intraorais, pois era a sua queixa principal. Mesmo sem tempo de finalizar o tratamento, devido problemas pessoais da paciente, a mesma se mostrou bastante satisfeita com a evolução do caso. A esclerose múltipla é uma afecção do Sistema Nervoso Central em que ocorre um processo crônico autoimune levando a desmielinização e perda axonal, afetando diretamente o sistema nervoso central e outros sistemas do corpo gerando alterações motoras, sensitivas, cerebelares e cognitivas. Devido a essas alterações esses pacientes tendem a ter incapacidades funcionais e ficam restritos das suas atividades da vida diária. Objetivo: Diante disso, o objetivo desse trabalho é avaliar os efeitos e benefícios da fisioterapia aquática no tratamento da esclerose múltipla. Metodologia: Para o estudo foi realizado uma revisão da literatura nas bases de dados eletrônicos Medline (PubMed), Scielo e PEDro utilizando as palavras-chaves fisioterapia, aquática e esclerose múltipla. Resultados: Após o levantamento bibliográfico foram encontrados dezesseis artigos, destes oito ensaios clínicos controlado randomizado foram incluídos nessa revisão. Conclusão: A fisioterapia aquática gera efeitos benéficos nos sistemas sensório motor, cardiorrespiratório e na qualidade de vida dos pacientes com esclerose múltipla, especialmente aqueles com grau de limitação moderada.
