Apesar de sua grande aplicabilidade, efeitos adversos podem acontecer e entre eles está a osteonecrose em maxila e/ou mandíbula, sendo caracterizada como uma doença avascular, que resulta na desordem óssea e consequentemente na necrose. Assim surgiu a questão norteadora desta pesquisa que foi compreender como a ação do bisfosfonato pode afetar a qualidade de vida de pacientes odontológicos, em especial os que precisam de tratamentos na área de implantodontia. Portanto, o objetivo do estudo foi realizar uma revisão de literatura para fornecer subsídios teóricos sobre a atuação dos cirurgiõesdentistas com pacientes que fizeram uso prolongado de bisfosfonato e realizaram implantes osseointegrados. A metodologia empregada foi uma revisão sistêmica de literatura. Após as pesquisas foi possível constatar que por se tratar de uma condição nova, ainda não existe um protocolo terapêutico com os procedimentos que devem ser adotados para a realização dos implantes em pacientes que fazem a utilização de bisfosfonato, apenas existem algumas indicações como avaliar por quanto tempo os pacientes utilizaram os medicamentos, a via de aplicação, oral ou intravenosa e qual a dosagem empregada, para poder determinar um risco menor ou maior para desenvolver osteonecrose. Os estudos demonstraram que há um risco para o desenvolvimento de osteonecrose nas áreas onde se realiza a cirurgia para a colocação de implantes em pacientes que fizeram uso prolongado de bisfosfonatos e, diante deste fato, os pacientes devem ser orientados sobre os riscos pelo cirurgiãodentista e realizar a interrupção do uso da medicação por pelo menos 6 meses antes de procedimentos cirúrgicos. Diante de tais achados, faz-se necessário que mais pesquisas sejam realizadas para a elucidação das consequências e dos tratamentos odontológicos para os indivíduos que fazem uso de bisfosfonatos. O objetivo desse trabalho foi desenvolver uma revisão de literatura relacionada ao uso do Sealer 26 em consistência densa como material obturador retrógrado em comparação com o Agregrado Trióxido Mineral (MTA). Foi realizado uma busca na base de dados PubMed e Medline com as palavras “Sealer 26”, “MTA”, “retrograde Filling materials”, sendo selecionado todos os artigos que continham o cimento Sealer 26. Os trabalhos selecionados demonstraram que o Sealer 26 apresenta baixa solubilidade, boa adesividade, radiopacidade adequada, biocompatibilidade e alta atividade antimicrobiana. Sugere-se que não há diferença entre o Sealer 26 em consistência densa com MTA no reparo tecidual. Podemos concluir que o Sealer 26 é uma boa opção de material obturador retrógrado, sendo um substituto ao MTA. Since then, indications for the use of MTA have broadened and several other bioceramic or “hybrid” materials have been introduced. Despite the similarities, the materials have differences between them, which alter their mechanical properties, such as setting time and compressive strength, but all purely bioceramic materials are biocompatible. In addition to being used in retrograde fillings, nowadays these cements are also used for filling straight canals, pulp capping, perforation repair, treatment of teeth with incomplete apices and resorption. With the exception of MTA, the literature is still relatively sparse on bioceramic materials, although it is growing rapidly. This bibliographic review aims to deepen the knowledge about endodontic surgery, or commonly known as endodontic surgery and retrofilling materials, focusing on the use of bioceramic materials, describing how the procedure is performed and showing which are the best materials, the varieties and properties within our reach for a better prognosis.
