O tratamento ortodôntico corrigiu a vestibularização dos incisivos superiores e lingualização dos incisivos inferiores, e da má oclusão de Classe I. O tratamento da mordida aberta anterior por meio da grade palatina corrigiu o transpasse vertical negativo com sucesso. Após o tratamento ortodôntico com aparelho fixo, houve a manutenção do transpasse vertical positivo conseguido com o uso da grade palatina, atingindo excelente estabilidade. Além de proporcionar estética, a ortodontia estuda o crescimento do complexo craniofacial e está relacionada com o desenvolvimento da oclusão e o tratamento das anomalias dentofaciais. Saber quanto tempo passará com aparelho talvez seja a pergunta mais frequente no início de cada novo tratamento ortodôntico.
