Para a correção da mordida cruzada foi utilizado o aparelho MARPE (miniscrew assisted rapid palatal expansion), que dispõe da ancoragem esquelética a fim de obter efeito de expansão maxilar, uma vez que o paciente já possui sutura palatina fusionada. Foi utilizada a prescrição de bráquetes pré-ajustados Biofuncional e também mini-implantes Bucal Shelff para distalização dos dentes inferiores, corrigindo assim a oclusão de Classe III. Aproveitando o aparelho MARPE foram soldados ganchos para realização da intrusão dos elementos 17 e 27, que se encontravam extruídos, devido à severa protrusão mandibular. Após 1 ano de tratamento, o aparelho fixo ortodôntico foi removido e foram instalados alinhadores. Nesse momento de tratamento pode-se verificar a correção tanto da má oclusão de Classe III como da mordida cruzada anterior e posterior, devolvendo harmonia do sorriso e equilíbrio facial, atingindo um ótimo resultado, dispensando a necessidade de possíveis intervenções cirúrgicas. Para alcançar resultados estéticos satisfatórios, é importante que seja executada a fase provisória previamente a reabilitação final. No entanto, a literatura é escassa em informações que possam guiar a prática clínica no que diz respeito a confecção de restaurações provisórias sobre implantes. O objetivo desta revisão foi identificar os critérios importantes para definir o perfil de emergência em restaurações provisórias sobre implantes. A busca foi realizada na base de dados PubMed e na literatura cinzenta, resultando em 26 artigos. Após a exclusão de duplicatas e leitura na íntegra, 6 artigos foram incluídos na versão final de análise. Os critérios citados nos artigos apontam o posicionamento dos implantes, instalação do provisório imediata ou tardia após a instalação do implante, definição do contorno adequado e fenótipo gengival para definir o perfil de emergência. Conclui-se que o conhecimento técnico da execução de contornos crítico e subcrítico aliado à disposição do nível dos implantes são fundamentais para promover a adaptação dos tecidos de suporte e estética final. O presente relato clínico apresenta uma alternativa para o tratamento da sobremordida profunda com apinhamento severo dando ênfase na colagem diferenciada dos acessórios na região anterior superior e inferior. Com o intuito de facilitar a mecânica de abertura da mordida, os bráquetes dos incisivos e caninos foram colados 1,5 mm mais para incisal logo no inicio da mecânica em ambos os arcos, sendo facilitada a colagem de quase todo arco inferior devido à sobressaliência acentuada. Title A name given to the resource REMOÇÃO DE RESINA ORTODÔNTICA RESIDUAL DA SUPERFÍCIE DENTÁRIA Subject The topic of the resource Monografia Description An account of the resource Uma das maiores dificuldades dos ortodontistas é saber como remover a resina residual da colagem dos braquetes dos aparelhos fixos. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar a revisão de literatura sobre métodos de remoção de resina ortodôntica de superfícies dentárias. As técnicas mais utilizadas encontradas foram: broca de carbide de tungstênio em alta e baixa rotação; alicate removedor de resina e ponta de carboneto de silício em alta rotação; ponta de óxido de alumínio em alta rotação, e por fim, uso do laser. Através do estudo, concluiu-se que existem indicações de diferentes protocolos de remoção da resina residual, não existindo nenhum estudo que comprove que um método seja superior aos demais, uma vez que todas causam algum dano à superfície dentária. Danos esses, que podem ser minimizados com a utilização de flúor. Dessa forma, sugerimos o uso do alicate removedor de resina que foi método que mostrou os melhores resultados. O polimento foi importante para o restabelecimento da lisura superficial do esmalte, em todos os métodos de remoção da resina residual.
