Com a popularização do mini-implante ortodôntico (MPO) a intrusão de molares se tornou menos complexa. Os MPOs são utilizados como dispositivos de ancoragem temporária e diminuem os efeitos indesejáveis das mecânicas convencionais. A correção de mordida aberta anterior e o reestabelecimento de espaço protético para reabilitação é facilitada quando utilizado MPO para intrusão de molares. No entanto, vários protocolos são descritos na literatura, que variam desde o sítio de inserção do MPO, até a mecânica e força aplicadas para o movimento intrusivo. Além disso, apesar de bem estabelecido os efeitos dessa mecânica sobre aspectos cefalométricos e faciais, os resultados dessa terapia no periodonto e na polpa dentária são pouco discutidos. Apesar de simplificar a intrusão de molares, a utilização do MPO não elimina totalmente os movimentos secundários indesejáveis sobre esses dentes, sendo que o protocolo utilizado influencia nesses movimentos. Portanto, este trabalho teve como objetivo levantar dados que auxiliem na compreensão da influência da força de intrusão utilizando MPO nos tecidos do órgão dental e quais os protocolos descritos na literatura se mostram mais eficazes, minimizando os efeitos secundários indesejados. Title A name given to the resource DOENÇAS OCUPACIONAIS DO PROFISSIONAL DO VINHO Subject The topic of the resource Artigo Description An account of the resource A proposta deste trabalho é de realizar uma revisão de literatura, voltada ao tema da saúde oral dos trabalhadores Enólogos e Sommeliers, dois profissionais que têm formações diferentes, mas que possuem em comum algumas atividades laborais como a degustação de vinhos. Foram consultados como material de pesquisa: livros, artigos científicos, trabalhos de congressos, sites de saúde, monografias e teses de mestrados e outras pós-graduações. A exposição ocupacional na gama desses trabalhadores foi relacionada com o surgimento das modificações bucais. As transformações dentárias como erosões e escurecimento foram encontradas com maior frequência na literatura estudada. Já as de origem periodontal e as cáries tiveram pouca relação e ausência respectivamente. Destacaram-se os métodos preventivos para minimizar as alterações mais presentes nesses trabalhadores antes, durante e após a degustação do vinho. Considera-se também relevante a discussão sobre a necessidade de maior produção de conhecimentos nessa área. Resultados: os estudos demonstram que as aplicações de toxina botulínica podem diminuir os níveis de dor, frequência dos eventos de bruxismo e satisfazer os pacientes no que diz respeito à eficácia da toxina botulínica. Conclusão: A aplicação da toxina não provoca efeitos adversos importantes. Assim, o tratamento com Toxina botulínica parece ser tratamento seguro e eficaz para pacientes com bruxismo.
