O planejamento proposto foi a instalação do aparelho hyrax com grade palatina anterior. Após seis meses de uso, o aparelho foi removido restabelecendo-se a oclusão normal, e também uma interação multidisciplinar psicólogo, fonoaudiólogo, otorrinolaringologista para que haja a mudança de hábitos e consequentemente a manutenção da oclusão. O presente estudo descreve o caso de uma paciente com dez anos de idade, portadora de má oclusão classe III, com discrepância anteroposterior e vertical, em fase de crescimento. O tratamento inicial consistiu de expansão anteroposterior com disjuntor Hyrax superior, e placa lábio ativa inferior juntamente com elástico intermaxilar, por no mínimo 16 horas por dia.
